The Background
The making of NeuroVizr™️, the science, technology and much more
I am Garnet Dupuis and I'm here in Northern Thailand and I wanted to say welcome to all of you sincerely. I'm very much looking forward to having the chance to grow with you to get to know you if possible and let's do beautiful things together. We've got a great project at a perfect time and good people together do good things.
The idea behind Brain Prime/Brain Time is simple - by doing one activity beforehand, the outcome of the following activity is enhanced. This has been proven to be true in practice, for instance, a neurofeedback practitioner found that by using NeuroVizr™ as a brain priming method before a neurofeedback session, the subject was able to drop into the session 15 minutes faster. This indicates that priming the brain before engaging in other activities such as yoga, meditation, or physical therapy can improve their effectiveness.
The NeuroVizr™ is beneficial for the brain in similar ways to regular physical exercise. Regular use can improve brain function, adaptability, and ability to change and learn. It can also lead to subjective feelings of well-being. The benefits are progressive and can be compared to different types of physical exercise for different purposes.
Brain engagement is a novel approach to neuroplasticity that differs from brain entrainment. Brain entrainment relies on the Frequency Following Response, which is the brain's ability to follow the frequency of a repeating signal, such as a light or tone. Brain engagement, however, aims to signal the brain in a way that allows it to adapt and change more easily by providing it with constantly changing information, while also helping the brain make predictions. This approach is a new and evolving field of study, with technology being used to apply these concepts to neuroplasticity.
Neuroplasticity allows for change at all levels, including habits. To change, we must encounter and challenge these set patterns and assumptions. Sensory experience, particularly bottom-up experience, is a key source of new information for positive change as it allows for connections that normally don't happen. Trusting and embracing this experience, rather than trying to give it meaning, is crucial in the NeuroVizr™. Music, for example, can be enjoyed without intelligence. Working with neuroplasticity involves setting the stage for brain change.
The entropic brain model refers to the relationship between bottom-up and top-down processes in the brain. Bottom-up refers to new information that is processed without prior learning, while top-down refers to prior learning that organizes new information. The NeuroVizr™ process often utilizes bottom-up experience, but it is important to understand that both bottom-up and top-down processes are important and complementary in the brain. The entropic brain model also includes the concept of the anarchic brain, which refers to a leaderless state of exploration and discovery in primary consciousness. The idea that altered states of consciousness are abnormal is a common misconception; all altered states are normal and natural.
Discover the connection between a high-functioning brain and consciousness with NeuroVizr™ Join us on a journey to unlock the mysteries of the brain, mind, and consciousness.
Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to change and adapt, both in behavior and in its actual structure. It was once thought that the adult brain could not change, but recent research has shown that this is not the case. Studies have shown that efficient neuroplastic methods can positively affect all 17 aspects of the brain that change negatively in aging. Neuroplasticity is important for healthy and efficient aging, as well as maintaining a clear and functioning mind throughout adulthood.
Unlock the full potential of your brain with sensory enrichment - the art of stimulating the mind through unique and uncommon experiences. Experience positive changes in the brain and behavior, and enjoy the process with sensory enrichment.
When working with brain engagement and neuroplasticity, we use two interrelated terms: Brain Prime and Brain Time. Brain Prime is like a preparation stage, where you set the brain up for change. Brain Time is the period following the preparation stage, where the brain is in a state of hyper-plasticity, making it more receptive to change. In the NeuroVizr™ experience, the light and sound session primes the brain towards a certain probability state, but it doesn't guarantee change. The period following the session is crucial for maximizing the neuroplastic aspect of the experience, which is why the NeuroVizr™ app includes guided breathing options to enhance integration and increase the chances of neuroplastic change.
The Entropic Brain concept is a model of brain function developed by a team of researchers led by Robin Carhart-Harris at Imperial College in the UK. It suggests that there are two types of consciousness: primary and secondary. The early brain, which generates primary consciousness, is spontaneous and unbiased, and primarily comes from the senses. The later brain, which generates secondary consciousness, is an organizer that tries to make sense of the information from the early brain. When the secondary consciousness encounters a problem that it cannot solve, it shifts to primary consciousness to access new, unstructured information and bring it back to create a higher order in the secondary consciousness. This model is useful in understanding how the brain naturally changes and adapts to new situations.
The hero's journey is a parallel to the dynamics of the brain, where a person gets a call to adventure and must overcome resistance to change to reach a deeper understanding of themselves. This process is characterized by a mentor, tests, allies and friends, and a secret cave where one discovers a treasure and emerges reborn with an elixir for others. Encountering change is heroic and we can change if we are willing to be a hero to ourselves.
Unlock the power of change with NeuroVizr™. Navigate the ever-evolving world and experience growth, learning and true change like never before with cutting-edge digital technology.
Brain engagement can be used as a primary experience for personal or clinical use, and can act as an efficient brain priming process. Targeted neuroplastic change can be achieved through three elements: sustained focal attention without tension, marginal demand, and open-minded willingness. The fourth element is the "secret sauce" that makes the process more effective. Brain entrainment, on the other hand, requires the repetition of a signal without the need for sustained attention.
